FRANZ MARC (1880-1916)Born in Munich in Bavaria in 1880. He studied painting at the Munich Academy from the age of 20. He travelled extensively throughout Europe, discovering several styles that influenced him thereafter, in particular the animal painter, Jean Bloé Niestlé, Van Gogh and Gauguin, and finally the Italian Futurists. He was killed at Verdun in 1916 during W.W.I..
