Toulouse-Lautrec

TOULOUSE-LAUTREC (1864-1901) A French painter and descendant of the Counts of Toulouse, he was born in Albi on 24 November 1864. He was destined to become an army officer but an incurable, congenital bone disease made this impossible. Encouraged by his family, he devoted his life to painting that he had always interested him since his earliest years. He died at Château de Malroné in 1901.
